Far in the middle of California, nestled between rolling hills and gated estates, is an abandoned mansion previously owned by the iconic Mary J. Blige—the undisputed “Queen of Hip-Hop & R&B.”
Conceived in the year 2003, this is a 10,000-square-foot megamansion that had once been a luxurious oasis, featuring among other things, a 55-foot pool in the backyard, a 75-foot water cascade, and stunning views of the San Francisco Bay area. Mary J. Blige paid $30,000 monthly to rent the mansion as her personal haven and even made music videos within it, such as “Last Night” with Diddy and Keyshia Cole.

But following personal turmoil—including divorcing her then-husband Kendu Isaacs—the mansion was abandoned. Failing to attract new renters, the estate made an unexpected leap, being used as the backdrop for adult movies before eventually descending into outright abandonment. And then… we stumbled upon this unexpected find—a spotless DeLorean, tucked away in a hidden garage deep in the woods.Mary J. Blige’s ABANDONED Mega Mansion
Come with us as we take you through this crumbling palace of excess and fame, detailing its opulent history, scandalous fall, and enigmatic abandoned car.
Nine-time Grammy Award winner Mary J. Blige had lived in luxury, and this mansion did not disappoint.
The mansion wasn’t just a residence but rather an exclusive retreat where Mary entertained at parties, made music recordings, and even filmed some of her most famous music videos.
At its peak, the estate was a popular destination for celebrities and film productions. Notably:
But when Mary’s union with Kendu Isaacs broke down, she abandoned the property, and things went terribly wrong.
After Mary had left, the mansion had difficulty finding new tenants—including at its $6.7 million price tag.
With no purchasers or tenants, the house became an unlikely shooting site… for pornographic films.
Then… we discovered what seemed impossible buried on the grounds.
While searching the wooded neighborhood beside the estate, we came across a hidden garage in the woodlot. Inside:
No matter what its history, the car is an odd time capsule—a reminder of the mansion’s glamorous, tragic past.
Walking across the property nowadays feels like entering a spectral likeness of what it once was.
The once-central, 55-foot infinity pool is now full of cloudy, algae-littered water. There is no water in the 75-foot waterfall, whose stone is now cracked and strewn with debris.
Embedded in the forest, the garage is pristine-looking—apart from the dust-covered DeLorean within it. There is no apparent damage on the car at any point.
As of 2024, the building sits abandoned and in disrepair. Potential future uses include:
One thing is for certain: this mansion’s tale is yet far from complete.
Mary J. Blige’s foreclosed mansion is not just any neglected house—it’s a tale of fame, wealth, and how rapidly things can go wrong in luxury. From Grammy-winning music videos to porn sets, now down to a crumbling hulk with an invisible DeLorean, this mansion has experienced it all.
